Ideas for Wedding Entertainment
If guests are well-fed and well-watered, you're already on the way to having had a memorable and enjoyable wedding. Getting your wedding entertainment right, can also help to 'spread the love' – here are a few ideas for what you might like to do.
Wedding Entertainment Ideas for the Ceremony
- Live organ or piano music – A classic choice for churches and chapels for the bride's entrance
- Church choir or choral group – Perfect for signing the register during church or chapel weddings
- Soloist (singer and/or musician) – For 'quiet' entertainment during the signing of the register at any wedding
- String quartet – An elegant choice for quiet and classical background music during the meet and greet and reception
- Performance by groomsmen or bridesmaids – for an alternative type of entertainment during the register signing, the nearest and dearest of the newly married couple may just work up a song and dance routine! This could of course be saved for the night time entertainment too…
Wedding Entertainment Ideas for the Evening
- DJ – Book in a good DJ with a great selection of wedding tracks at their disposal and play hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s and so on, to suit guests of all ages.
- Live group / band – Pick a group that specialise in wedding entertainment, so you can really encourage your guests to get up and start the dancing!
- Specialist band – If you enjoy a particular type of music (brass, steel band, calypso, reggae) and you think your wedding guests would enjoy it too, why not book a specialist band for your wedding entertainment.
- Karaoke – Get your guests to take the stage and entertain you and themselves!
- Recorded music – If your budget is tight, or your wedding small, why not save yourself the cost of hiring in wedding entertainment and play a pre-recorded selection of your favourite music over the venue's pa.
